Cascade

“Forever is composed of nows.” – Emily Dickinson

We can pool up and remain or flow like water over the rocks, dancing, moving, learning, laughing, living. Whether stay dormant or move freely with the flow, each moment cascades over the rocks never to pass the same place again.

Kids start first grade and suddenly they are in college. Parents protect and hold us, now they need to be held. At 25, we race the sprint, at 50 we know it’s a marathon that’s not forever and pace to enjoy the journey.

Yesterday has taken care of itself, tomorrow will do the same. Embrace your nows, right now.

“Time is a sort of river of passing events, and strong is its current; no sooner is a thing brought to sight than it is swept by and another takes its place, and this too will be swept away.” – Marcus Aurelius
