Play All Week Long

“The master of the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which; he simply pursues his vision of excellence in whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both.” – Buddha

Cast away those Sunday night blues and look at this week in a new light. Remember the playfulness of the weekend and carry that through the rest of the week. Try it for one week. Just one. Take back those five days that we trade away waiting on the weekend.

“Play is the exultation of the possible.” - Martin Buber

Play hard, look up and forward to the possibilities.

  1. Posting pictures of your dogs with this post was the icing on the cake for me, ’cause dogs could very well teach us how to live in the present and excel at what we do. They are masters at treasuring the moment that is now, and always live life to the fullest whatever they are doing, at least if we only let them… Great post 🙂

    • Lily, Molly, Elly (my german shepherd that had to be put down two years ago) and all the dogs that have been family in the past have been some of my best teachers and models. Thanks for your comments – now back to a new way to look at Monday – play, espcially today.

  2. Love the dog pictures, though it has me missing my dog that we put down this morning.

    • So sorry for your loss – I can remember each dog in my life and what they gave me. Much more than I gave them. Always tough to say goodbye.

  3. Great post! We love the photos too. We’re going to live this week like it is the weekend. Excuse us if we turn our blog in a little late because we are sleeping in 🙂

  4. I certainly enjoyed the post. BTW, your rock sculpture reminds me of many I’ve seen and made on beach near Ventura, California, and also at the bottom of the volcano crater in death valley near scotties castle. Very cool. Thank you for sharing.

    • The rock sculpture picture was taken in Monterey when I was there with friends a few years ago for the Big Sur half marathon – a truly beautiful place.
