Endurance

“Our real blessings often appear to us in the shape of pains, losses and disappointments; but let us have patience and we soon shall see them in their proper figures.” – Joseph Addison

“Wondrous is the strength of cheerfulness, and its power of endurance - the cheerful man will do more in the same time, will do it; better, will preserve it longer, than the sad or sullen.” – Thomas Carlyle

Whether it’s the prediction of seven inches of snow in late April or the challenging co-worker, we have a choice. We can see the sun in the clouds, the summer chair under the layer of snow. Be patient, be of good cheer. True summer is a state of mind.

  2. This is a wonderful perspective. I have seen your weather report (my brother lives near Rice Lake WI), and it must be an effort to stay positive when one forecast after another predicts more snow. But it is an effort well worth it. One way to stay positive is to make jokes about it. So laugh your way to spring.

    • We’ll probably be skipping Spring and moving directly to Summer. Keep laughing and smiling because the alternative is a drag,
