The Necessity of Fun

“It’s kind of fun to do the impossible.” – Walt Disney

“We will be more successful in all our endeavors if we can let go of the habit of running all the time, and take little pauses to relax and re-center ourselves. And we’ll also have a lot more joy in living.” – Thich Nhat Hanh

We find how tight we are wound when we pause long enough to unwind.
Vacation, five days away from daily duties, efficiency and task completion.
Fun, play, laughter, reset, rest.
To re-enter the world fresh.
And to put the practice of pause and refreshment into each day.
To carry what is necessary.
To lay down the rest.
To let fun do its work.
Tend to daily joy, delight found in the pause.

“Stop a minute, right where you are. Relax your shoulders, shake your head and spine like a dog shaking off cold water. Tell that imperious voice in your head to be still.” – Barbara Kingsolver
