  2. Well written, and I can identify with this. I was on the playground where I taught young children when I got the news we couldn’t show our emotions. We didn’t want to scare the children, and some parents came to get them. Others stayed all day locked with us in a safe place. And still, we couldn’t reveal our emotion, even as we discovered more details as the day went on. I also had my brother and his family living in Manhattan and my daughter and her husband living in Washington DC. I wasn’t able to reach any of them until the next day. Do you I could not process what it happened. I had no frame of reference for it. I’d never experienced anything like it in the emotions were overwhelming. I will never forget that day as long as I live. A few years later in my career, I taught a young child, whose mother was pregnant with him when his father was killed and one of the planes. He never met his father.

    • Thank you so much for sharing and carrying that burden for others while going through it yourself.
