Engage
The past few weeks have been extraordinarily busy and this next week is going to be more of the same. My initial response to it all has been to tough it out and just get through it. Fortunately, I had some time to myself yesterday to just reflect, without the noise of the past few weeks.
And in one quiet moment, I made the decision to get out of retreat and react mode into one of engagement. Choosing to be an active participant and do more than merely get through. And after I shifted my perspective, the heaviness of the past few weeks was lifted. Instead of dreading the week, I am looking forward to it. To be a participant, not merely a spectator.
Our thoughts and expectations set the stage for our experiences. We are presented with dozens of excuses each day to be cynical. But if we take time each day for quiet contemplation to re-ground ourselves, we can shape our world and offer our best to ourselves and those around us. To engage.
i can relate to this post in full with my past week.. i am back to the motivated me though!.. the sooner we get back up, the better, eh?! 🙂 have a great month of march!
But I work so hard at being cynical- I always thought of it as an art form- On my own reflection- I like your perspective better.
