Get on the Bus

“What do you want to be when you grow up?”

“Kind”, said the boy.”

― Charlie Mackesy, The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse

The day after Labor Day, the mark of fall and back to school.
An exciting time for kids and parents.
New clothes, fresh supplies, early mornings, schedules, buses all around.
Anticipation, fear, excitement, change, structure.

Let kindness, empathy, joy and delight be the curriculum.
Weave play and summer lightness throughout too.
Grow unique humans, not replicas.
The past few years have been hard with a pandemic, toxic politics and adults acting like idiots.
They are watching.

Be a role model.
Listen and observe.
Show and speak love.
Let kindness be the seeds you plant, so beauty can bloom.
