Plenty
“I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength.” – Philippians 4:12-13
Life wrestles us to the ground. And it doesn’t let up until we let go of our preconceived notions, rules, judgments, what ifs and why me. I am convinced that we need to change more often than our circumstances. Our search for explanation and justification delays joy, blurs awe. Even, perhaps especially, it is in the very midst of need that plenty surrounds us. Grace always carries us through until we can see what’s real and true clearly again, until hope is satisfied.
