Layers of Light

“For me nature is not landscape, but the dynamism of visual forces.” – Bridget Riley

“A large drop of sun lingered on the horizon and then dripped over and was gone, and the sky was brilliant over the spot where it had gone, and a torn cloud, like a bloody rag, hung over the spot of its going. And dusk crept over the sky from the eastern horizon, and darkness crept over the land from the east.”― John Steinbeck, The Grapes of Wrath

In the layers of light.
In the beams of color.
In the puffs of clouds.
In our midst daily, beauty is present everywhere.
A sunset biding adieu, the luminescence of the moon, the hello, I’m back! of sunrise.
Pause to be captured, delighted, made new again.
May beauty ignite wonder, awaken your soul, release your spirit.
A drop of light washing over you like a wave, pulling you into the rhythm and expanse of life.

“Humans are vulnerable and rely on the kindnesses of the earth and the sun; we exist together in a sacred field of meaning.” – Joy Harjo
