Ice Cream in Winter

“The world we see that seems so insane is the result of a belief system that is not working. To perceive the world differently, we must be willing to change our belief system, let the past slip away, expand our sense of now, and dissolve the fear in our minds.” – William James

“People don't notice whether it's winter or summer when they're happy.” - Anton Chekhov

Ice cream in winter? Why not? Let go of the “rules” and “I’ll be happy when” and start living today. True contentment is not moved by circumstances, negative people or a foot of snow. Get out of your comfort zone which really isn’t that comfortable. Climb the snow bank and get that ice cream cone, with sprinkles on top of course.

  1. I love ice cream and just found out our local ice cream stand opened up this past weekend. I don’t mind getting out of my comfort zone for ice cream! Love the quote and I am really trying to get rid of that negative thinking and perceive the world more positive. Thanks for the reminder!

  2. There was a restaurant in our area that had the slogan: “Life is uncertain. Eat dessert first.”

I like this quote – makes a lot of sense to me.

This one is really cute too, and with the forecast of a snow storm, very timely indeed.

One of my best friends called out of the blue Sunday afternoon and said vanilla, chocolate, or strawberry. I said vanilla and she hung up. I had no idea what had just transpired, but in 15 minutes she drove up with milkshakes and a great visit.

  5. When I was 14, my older sister drove us for miles to get an milk shake. We shivered, but we laughed all the way there and back. Thanks for taking me back to remember those days 59 years ago. Celebrate your wisdom.
