Out of the Blue

“It’s wonderful to climb the liquid mountains of the sky. Behind me and before me is God and I have no fears.” – Helen Keller
“A tree is known by its fruit; a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost; he who sows courtesy reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.” – Saint Basil
The right words at the perfect time, a phone call from a friend, an unprompted email from a co-worker with an authentic thank you, a handwritten card for no occasion but one of encouragement.
All simple acts of love “out of the blue” that remind us that there are more blue skies than clouds. We have the power to create “out of the blue” moments for others. This week, write an email, send a card, pick up the phone. A simple act of kindness that can transform the sky.
“My religion is very simple. My religion is kindness.” – Dalai Lama
So true… I was reminded about this recently and even wrote about it (runningaroundlandoflincoln.wordpress.com/gods-tears) – thanks for the encouragement.
Done! Its great to surprise someone with a hello. 🙂
Very cool 🙂
Such a great reminder! And oddly enough, I did just that this week. I sent a card to cheer up my elderly uncle who is failing in health. He’s been like a father to me since my own father betrayed my family. I know I don’t have much time left to pour love into my uncle’s love tank, and I want to make sure he knows how loved he is. Fortunately, I’ve been given fair warning about my uncle, but your reminder is so good because often we lose someone without warning.
Love it. Thank you for your “out of the blue” like, meaning I then checked you out and saw “out of the blue”. Good things all round.
